Made it back to the fabric shop and our new favorite tailor. The owner offered us coffee or tea and insisted. He sent out for coffee for us.. how nice.
The tailor and owner spend time suggesting fabrics for the dresses J wanted and the skirt. Even though the tailor didnt speak English, with photos and pointing, J communicated what was wanted and he communicated his suggestions. It was rather amazing to watch J and Abraham “talk”. We confirmed certain things with the shop owner who spoke both languages and he confirmed the understanding. The tailor had an amazing eye for detail and the shop owner an eye for fabrics. An incredible combination…
I decided to have two pairs of pants with patterns made for me…one fitted…one with more fullness. The tailor thought it was funny I needed a pattern. I have been working on one for ages and I’m not certain I have enough years left to figure this out.
I had looked into taking a class on fitting pants. That was $290…the custom made pants both pairs with pattern cost me less than $45. Better use of money and time! And saved me in anti anxiety meds!When I told him I flew on Friday…he said to come at 9pm on Thursday. What fantastic service.
Next time go first day..& if really good at fitting…could have Julie pick up for you after you leave if can’t get done in time. Sounds like a fabulous experience!!!!!
