• Day # 8 Gdansk

I took the day off from the tour and spent my time shooting around Gdansk.  This city, like Warsaw rebuilt, after World War II.  They did an amazing job!  With Julianna living in London for 15 years, I spent many hours walking the streets.  And what is noticeable there are the nondescript post-World War II buildings.  I'm certain there are reasons for the differences.  But I appreciate the effort the Polish people made, much of it under communist rule, to restore their cities to their original style.

  • My love of details...
  • Gdansk ...the City of Many Gates

  • Prison Tower of Torture

Deb and I wandered into this building  but didn't bother with the tour. of either museum.  Originally it was build in the 14th century, and rebuilt in the 16th century, and as most building in Gdansk was damaged during WWII.  Executions were carried out here from the 16th to 19th century.  The building now houses the Amber and Torture Museums.

  • Canal scenes

  • The lovely reflections...

It takes so little to keep me entertained for hours...thankfully I don't have to pay for film processing.
