DDP and Sul Yun Hyoung

As architects’ attract me…. so does anything fabric…  Timothy found an exhibit of designer’s Sul Yun Hyoung work at the DDP.  I had never encountered her work before, but immediately fell in love with a couple of her more tempered designs and loved all the color.

Timothy and I studied this one trying to figure out what it was made from.  We felt it was plastic, like the type children use to learn weaving.

The last two are my favorites… always looking for new ideas for my clothing design classes.  Marie, do you think we can figure these out?

The multi-colored top is pieced fabric from different types of weaves, some more loosely woven than others.

GOODBYE SEOUL….HELLO BUSAN.

Love the next to last you posted. Fabulous use of color. The multicolored top portion with yellow lower portion striking. If thinking of doing something similar would pay very close attention to colors and their placement in top.. extremely artistically balanced I think
